The Listening Chair is exactly what it sounds like.<\/p>\n

A single chair, placed in a quiet corner of a community space, where someone can sit down, talk, and be listened to.<\/p>\n

It is offered completely free for people who feel they have no one to talk to.<\/p>\n

There is no agenda. No pressure. No judgement.<\/p>\n

Each session lasts around 20 to 25 minutes \u2014 about the average time someone spends sitting in a barber\u2019s chair \u2014 long enough to feel heard, without needing to explain or justify anything.<\/p>\n

A while ago, I was sitting in a barbershop when the barber shared something unexpected. He\u2019d started counselling training \u2014 not because he wanted to change careers, but because so many people were opening up while sitting in his chair.<\/p>\n

Customers talked about their lives, their stress, their relationships, and the things they didn\u2019t feel able to say anywhere else.<\/p>\n

Not long after, a physiotherapy clinic owner told me something similar. Her team had become what she called \u201chidden listeners\u201d, because clients felt safe enough on the couch to talk \u2014 without stigma or judgement.<\/p>\n

A black cab driver friend said exactly the same. People unload their worries in the back of his cab, simply because it\u2019s a private space with no expectations.<\/p>\n

Different spaces.
The same human need.<\/p>\n

In the prison system, solitary confinement is recognised as a form of mental punishment. And yet many people are now living a version of solitary confinement outside of prison \u2014 surrounded by others, but unseen and unheard.<\/p>\n

      I began my career in the corporate world, building businesses, leading marketing teams, and driving sales performance. Alongside this, I founded and ran a diverse range of ventures\u2014from marketing and print to hospitality\u2014giving me a deep, practical understanding of people, pressure, and performance.<\/p>\n

      My experiences span boardroom strategy sessions at Wembley Stadium to life-changing conversations around kitchen tables. They taught me one essential truth: everyone deserves to be treated with respect, understanding, and equality\u2014no matter who they are or where they come from.<\/p>\n

      Eight years ago, I founded my wellbeing and coaching consultancy to support individuals and teams in a more meaningful way. I\u2019m an accredited Life and Career Coach, trained in Trauma and Anxiety Awareness, Mental Health First Aid, and emotional support through my work as a fully trained Samaritans volunteer.<\/p>\n

      I\u2019ve also served as an Ambassador for Oxfam and WaterAid, written two published novels, and six years ago stepped away from corporate ownership to fully commit to coaching, wellbeing, and purposeful work.<\/p>\n

      Today, I bring together commercial insight, coaching expertise, and deep emotional intelligence to support people and organisations that value people, purpose, and performance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
